Vintage Sewing Machine

My boyfriend's dad spent yesterday afternoon mowing the lawn in their garden, and looking through some old things in the shed. While he was sifting through, he dug up my bf's mom's aunt's antique Singer sewing machine. I'm new to sewing (but not too shabby, I must say), and they know how eager I am to become a crafty girl, so his parents decided to give it to me! I was so excited looking through the old instructions on how to use the machine. Each little booklet dated back to the early 1900s, one in particular from 1912. The wheel on the right still moves the needle up and down, but I need to do a bit of research to get it fully up and running. And, of course if I don't use it for sewing, it'll make for an excellent piece of living room decor.

Darling Love

I had the assignment of covering Pure, the largest womenswear trade show in the UK. It was my first time going, and I was super excited. I've heard stories of its massiveness, but seeing it in person is like walking into the hugest department store imaginable, without having to walk through a men's or children's section at any point. The carpeted aisles led to various sections, like spirit young fashion, premium fashion, and general womenswear. The staircases led to shoes and accessories. But, I found my absolute favorite exhibitor on the first floor. Darling is only four years old and was created by a London based designer with a love for English vintage looks. The name fits them perfectly, as the brand has gorgeous feminine clothing and accessories displayed against a chic, slightly vintage, yet modern background. I looove.

Vintage Burlesque

Burlesque is huge in London. Which is great for me because I love their glittering outfits and sensual moves. The first burlesque show I ever went to was in New Orleans. The girls did a cute Christmas show, I loved it. Now, I can go out for dinner and see some boobies for dessert! But, since I love vintage, I decided to take a look at some of the beauties from the past.
